Dear Families,

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week at Mason Crest. The theme this year is "My Teacher is a Star"! The Parent Teacher Organization will be hosting different events to show our teachers their appreciation. One way you could support is by sending in snacks so we can keep the teacher lounges full of treats for our teachers throughout the week.

We also encourage students to write a note of appreciation reminding our teachers what stars they are! On Wednesday, May 10 we invite all students to wear clothing with stars on them in honor of their teachers.

Thank you for your continued support of our amazing Mason Crest Staff,

Mr. Aiello, Ms. Conroy and Ms. Shin

Having trouble viewing this email? View it as a Web page.

Dear Parent/Guardian of a 3rd, 4th, or 5th Grade Mason Crest Student,

We are writing today to share the Standards of Learning test dates for the Spring 2023 testing season. Most testing will end by 1:30 p.m. on each of our regularly scheduled testing days.

We ask that you please take note of these dates and do all that you can to ensure that your child is here for their scheduled tests. We would also encourage your child to get a good night's sleep before their test. Proper nutrition, hydration, and sleep are keys to each child having the opportunity to do their best each day.

Information regarding student accommodations, parent refusal of testing, and test retakes will be sent home through the our Wednesday folders during the month of April.

Please email either your child's teacher or our school testing coordinators with any questions that you may have about these or any other assessments conducted at Mason Crest. Our testing coordinators, Larry Aiello and Shana Conroy, can be reached at [email protected] and [email protected]

Included below the testing calendar is also a list of other important dates upcoming at Mason Crest.

Thank you,
Sherry Shin, Shana Conroy, and Larry Aiello

Parent Volunteer Support During Ramadan

GovDelivery2 months 1 week ago

Having trouble viewing this email? View it as a Web page.

Dear Mason Crest Community,

The Ramadan holiday has begun and will continue through Thursday, April 20. During this time we have students who are fasting during the time that their class eats lunch. As being in the cafeteria while all of the other students are eating may be difficult for some of the students, Mason Crest would like to offer an alternative location in which students can sit quietly during their 30 minute lunch. We are hoping to secure volunteers between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. who would be available to sit with the students in our school library. At least one Mason Crest staff member would be in the library during this time, but are not available to provide direct supervision of the students throughout the full lunch block.

If you would be interested in assisting with this, please email Sherry Shin ([email protected]), Shana Conroy ([email protected]), and/or Larry Aiello ([email protected]).

Thank you,

Sherry, Shana, and Larry

From the Health Room

As we transition from winter to spring, we are seeing a rise in a variety of illnesses. We are asking families to support us in keeping our community healthy and safe by keeping sick children at home. It is difficult for students to concentrate or do school work when not feeling well. Children who have fevers (temperature of 100.04 degrees or higher), persistent coughing, vomiting, or diarrhea are not able to stay in school.  It is best for children to be home for 24 hours after these conditions resolve.

Thank you so much for all of your support!
